Senior Division Geologist Suresh Shrestha of the Department of Mines and Geology stated that drilling has reached a depth of 1,666 meters so far, out of the total 4,000 meters required.

At present, the experts are collecting data by testing the stones and soil from a depth of 2.2 meters. After drilling 2700 meters, there will be 3 more studies of source rock, reserve wire rock and seal rock,” he said. The signals under the required standards are being received successfully.’

Petroleum products are being explored with a subsidy of 2 billion 50 million rupees from the Chinese government. Geologists have said that petroleum products will be discovered after drilling to a depth of 4,000 meters. If the exploration is successful, it is expected that the economic situation of the country will improve and a large number of jobs will be created.
